Jungle House Films’ most recently completed documentary, Freya – Beyond the Mat (2025), directed by Arthur Lopes and produced by Alberto Rocha, follows 11-year-old Irish jiu-jitsu athlete Freya March as she competes across four continents, balancing the intensity of sport with questions of identity, family, and resilience. The film has already garnered critical attention and continues to travel the international festival circuit.
Critics have praised it as “a powerful and intimate portrait of childhood ambition set against a global stage” and “a moving exploration of family bonds and the courage to fight for one’s dreams.” The documentary has been described as both “visually striking and emotionally resonant,” marking it as a bold debut feature for Jungle House Films.

Arthur Lopes is a film director and editor with a BA in Advertising and Marketing and a BA in Film & TV Production. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Documentary Practice.
In 2025, Arthur directed and edited his first feature-length documentary, "Freya – Beyond the Mat", which follows an 11-year-old Irish jiu-jitsu athlete competing across four continents in a story of resilience, family, and identity. In addition to his work in film, Arthur is also a Creative Director and Graphic Designer, with professional experience across Brazil, Canada, and the United States.
His debut documentary as writer and director, "Libre: A Celebration of the Queer Body"(2021), was officially selected for the Virgin Media Dublin Film Festival, the Cannes Indie Shorts Awards, and festivals across the UK, Germany, Czech Republic, India, Canada, Brazil, USA and Mexico.
The film went on to win six international awards for Best Documentary, including honours at the Prague International Indie Film Festival, the LGBTQ+ Toronto Film Festival, and the Berlin Independent Film Festival. Alongside his filmmaking career, Arthur lectures in Video Journalism and Documentary and Video Editing at Griffith College Dublin, where he mentors the next generation of filmmakers and shares his expertise in storytelling and visual craft.

Alberto Rocha is a passionate visual storyteller with a BA in Photography, inspired by the language of cinema. His work is not just seen but felt, drawing viewers into narratives that are both personal and universal.
"Freya – Beyond the Mat"(2025) was the first feature film produced by Alberto. The film went on to win awards and was selected for festivals around the world.
With a unique eye for composition and emotional depth, Alberto has earned international recognition in street, landscape, wildlife, and photojournalistic photography.
His award-winning images blend clarity, elegance, and authenticity, capturing timeless moments that connect deeply with viewers. Through both photography and videography, he tells stories that resonate, inviting audiences to see the world through his lens.
